Utilizar la Alltagsgeschichte para entender la experiencia vivida de la dictadura fascista italiana
Abstract
This article examines some of the ways in which Alltagsgeschichte (the «history of everyday life») —and particularly the methodological and theoretical tools used by historians such as Alf Lüdtke— have in-fluenced and can influence the ways of writing the history of Italian fascism, and indeed other dictatorships of the mid twentieth century. In particular, it suggests that these approaches and tools offer fruit-ful possibilities on how to reframe research questions around the con-struction and practice of dictatorship «from below» as well as «from above». By so doing, these approaches augment our understanding of how dictatorships actually functioned and were experienced in Italian localities, and offers scholars an «escape hatch» from the vexed debates on consent and consensus with regard to fascism that have long dominated much of the historical literature.
