Abstract
梁祖堯在舞台劇《小人國》當中飾演的角色,以及堂前燕在散文《ABC》當中描述的Jessica,不斷地強調自己是鬼妹仔,以此強行解釋所有不恰當的舉止,以及抹殺自己香港人的特質。究竟鬼妹仔是指誰呢?這個關鍵字的解釋可以很廣泛。既可以是說真正的洋妞,亦可能是說在外國定居的華人。但更可能是指在香港土生土長,在大學期間去外國一個學期作交換生或拿工作旅遊簽證到外國玩過一年,餘生就不斷重複:「我以前在外國如何如何」的港女。 鬼妹仔覺得自己的經驗與其他香港人不同。但香港的人口流動性強,究竟需要包含什麼特質才能算是香港人呢?第一代從國內移居香港的,覺得需要不斷強調自己香港人的身分,以此融入香港社會。已經移民外國的,當中也有不少會在當地強調自己香港人的身分,以此在異地尋找自己的立腳點。但是,為什麼會有在香港土生土長的,反而以自己香港人的身分為恥,不斷地強調自己的外國經驗呢?當然有人會是覺得外國的月光特別圓,什麼都比香港好。但我認為他們可能以鬼妹仔的身分認同作為藉口,籍此逃避面對香港回歸前後的各種社會政治挑戰。作為身處大時代中香港人,我們更需要釐清香港的核心價值和身分認同,而不是躲在假想的外國身分後,逃避眼前的社會現實。
