The University of St Andrews is working on a joint venture with UK RepositoryNet+ (RepNet) and the Scottish Digital Library Consortium (SDLC) to carry out pilot testing of repository features. These features are being developed to enhance repositories for the UK Institutional Repository network.

The infrastructure at St Andrews, with a Research Information System (Pure) linked to a DSpace repository, makes it a useful use case for testing new applications. The STARS joint venture aims to report on mechanisms and technical requirements for implementing new features that will be of use as a model to the IR community.
