This study is intended to be an inquiry into the prospective economic effects for the Sudan of its association with the European Economic Community (The EEC] under the Lome Convention which was concluded between the EEC and 46 African, Caribbean and Pacific states, including the Sudan, on 28 February 1975. The study is mainly concerned with the trade and aid fields. Other economic aspects closely related to these two fields, such as regional integration, infra-structure and bringing about the desired structural change in the economy of the Sudan are also briefly examined.en
