Research in the School of Biology covers all aspects of the discipline, from ecosystems and organisms to cells and molecules. There are four major research groups: Biomolecular Sciences, Cell and Systems Biology, Evolution, Ecology and Animal Behaviour, Marine Biology. There are dynamic research links with Chemistry, Psychology, Physics and Maths & Statistics, all of which have demonstrated research excellence. This provides a unique environment for interdisciplinary research, and several research centres and institutes are founded explicitly along interdisciplinary lines. For more information please visit the School of Biology home pageResearch Institutes associated with this school are Centre for Research into Ecological & Environmental Modelling (CREEM) Centre for Biomolecular Sciences (CBMS) NERC Sea Mammal Research Unit (SMRU) Centre for Social Learning and Cognitive Evolution Centre for Evolution, Genes and Genomics (CEGG) Institute of Behavioural and Neural Sciences Centre of Magnetic Resonance (CMR) This material is presented to ensure timely dissemination of scholarly and technical work.
