The Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics (CSRP) aims to conduct collaborative research in the following areas: the relation of the practice of religion and its political context; theologies as religious narratives focusing on the religious communities that created them in a particular social and political context; the relation between religious and political histories; the relation between theology and history; the history of the Christian Churches in context with emphasis on the study of religion and politics in Latin America, Africa and Asia; the history of world religion and their involvement within particular social and political contexts; and indigenous religious narratives and their influence in contemporary political issues such as indigenous rights, political activism and new religious movements.
