The Departments in the School have been highly rated for their research, and the range and depth of expertise available, supported in many fields by excellent library resources, enables us confidently to invite research proposals from prospective PhD and DLang candidates in most areas of linguistic and literary study, whether historical or contemporary. Research leading to the degree of PhD can be undertaken in almost all areas of French, German, Russian, and Spanish/Latin American linguistic and literary studies
